  • Eric Berg I am the Donor Relations Officer for ChildVoice International. We operate a rehabilitation center in northern Uganda for formerly abducted Child Soldiers and women and children affected by war. Working out of Minnesota, I am raising awareness of the work ChildVoice is accomplishing and seeking out social justice advocates and new potential donors for the organization.

  • Atlas of Giving Happy New Year to all! In just two week the Atlas of Giving will be announcing the final charitable giving results for 2011 and also the 2012 giving forecast. All of this is reported by 8 sectors, 4 sources, and 50 states. We will post the release at charity channel as soon as it is available. 2011 was a good year for giving. 2012 is looking to be a bigger challenge. How were your results for 2011 and what are you projecting for 2012?

    • Stephen NillTerrific -- I'm looking forward to seeing the release. It's amazing to me that, for the first time, we're now able to receive actual forecasts, and with such granularity that we can change course to mazimize fundraising results.

  • Ellen Bristol So glad to be part of this group! We do a lot of highly innovative work on the science of fundraising, with an emphasis on using classic mechanisms of performance management to improve the productivity of the fundraising initiative. It's disruptive stuff, so I had to be in a group with an "Agitator" in residence!

  • Rob Mitchell Here's a puzzler for you... Is year-end giving traditionally good because donors are in the giving mood... or is it because charitable organizations have made a tradition of aggressively asking during that period? In other words, has Q4 giving become a self-fulfilling prophecy? http://www.philanthromax.com/news

  • Atlas of Giving Thank you for your interest in the Atlas of Giving. I'd like to keep discussion going related to how to use the Atlas for improving fundraising management. For example, what might you do differently knowing that growth in giving is forecast to be negative in October, November, and December.
