Nonprofit Management 101 is huge for nonprofit professionals! This compilation of topics addressing nonprofit issues, needs and trends, is an essential component of any toolkit for leaders. The content is well-organized and the replicated format of each chapter allows the reader to gain insight into multiple aspects of our nonprofit world.

 • As a grant professional, I liked Chapter 20- “How To Seek A Grant”- by Tori O’Neal-McElrath. The author has an excellent list of “Grant Seeking Dos and Don’ts”.

• As a national board member of the Grant Professionals Association (GPA), I applaud the recognition of GPA in the book as a Grant Seeking Resource.

• As a fundraising professional and member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), I found the Part Five - Fundraising section as a strong overview and practical guide.

• As a former Executive Director of several nonprofits, I support the “Top Ten Lessons” in the FOREWORD by Ami Dar, as well as the Part Two regarding Managing Organizations and People.

• As a consultant since 1994, I celebrate the recognition that consultants can be valuable resources, cost-effective assets and advisors noted throughout the book.

• As an author, I appreciate the content, work and efforts of many experienced individuals who contributed to this meaningful publication.

• As a trainer, I discovered many tips, lessons and resources that can benefit nonprofit professionals.

• As a social worker, I was delighted to embrace the AFTERWORD by Lynne Twist entitled- We All Have the Capacity to be Social Prophets!

It was a rewarding, motivational and productive experience to review this book signed given to me by the author, Darian Rodriguez Heyman, at the GPA national conference in Las Vegas in October 2011.  I treasure this gift that Darian has given to the nonprofit world.
