About Me
Mitch Dorger, Principal at Dorger Consulting, brings to his consulting practice more than 40 years of work experience including 20 years as the chief executive officer in organizations as large as 1800 people with operating budgets up to $100 million. His work experience encompasses a wide range of functional areas including aviation, international relations, program planning and budgeting, facility and installation management, crisis management, government relations, event management and sports management.
Mitch’s experience as a chief executive officer was consistently characterized by successful performance improvement programs and high employee morale and achievement. He is a collaborative leader who facilitates consensus building and goal setting.
Mitch has special expertise in the world of non-profit organizations and is well versed in corporate governance, strategic planning, change management, leadership development, volunteer management, financial planning and management, government relations, and event management. He also has first-hand experience in managing executive transitions.
Mitch is an accomplished public speaker and has lectured at the graduate degree level on non-profit organizational management, strategic planning, change management and leadership. He has served as a keynote speaker for four different association conventions sharing his experiences and lessons learned over the course of his career.
In addition to his executive experience, Mitch has served on boards in the sports and entertainment industries including the Football Bowl Association and the International Festival and Events Association. He currently serves on the Advisory Boards for the Los Angeles Sports and Entertainment Commission and the Sports Business Institute at the USC Marshall School of Business.
Mitch holds a B.S. Degree from the United States Air Force Academy, an M.A. in International Relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, an M.A in Management and an Executive MBA from Claremont Graduate University. He is also a distinguished graduate of the Air Force Command and Staff College and was a National Security Research Fellow at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
