About Me

Marian Casey is passionate about providing innovative and effective education for all learners. For more than twenty years, Marian has relied upon her consulting, operating, and governance experience to advance the objectives of a wide variety of corporate and not-for-profit organizations. Currently, Marian consults with organizations wishing to more effectively integrate technology into their organizations to improve learning, collaboration or knowledge sharing. Most recently, she worked with Deltak Innovation, where she codesigned an online faculty development course which teaches higher education faculty how to create and teach online courses. She has worked with Perspectives, Ltd. as an e-learning and social media consultant to several organizations, including the YMCA of USA, professional service firms, Prentice Women’s Hospital, and various departments of Northwestern University. Marian received her M.S. in Learning and Organizational Change from Northwestern University, where her focus was on learning, strategic design and change and knowledge management. She received her J.D. from Chicago Kent College of Law in 1986 and Mediation Certification from Northwestern University in 2005. Marian is passionate about the use of technology in the learning process and her master’s thesis focused on the use of computer based simulations in corporate learning for the development of employee soft skills. She is also the founder and Executive Director of Answers for Special Kids (ASK), an Illinois-based not for profit that has helped several hundred families around the country to obtain appropriate special education services for their children with special needs. Marian has served on a variety of civic and not-for-profit boards including the Mental Health Association of the North Shore, Cove School and Earn Academy. She currently serves on the Board of Namaste Charter School, an elementary school located on the South Side of Chicago. In 2010, she was awarded the Outstanding Volunteer Certificate by the City of Evanston and Northwestern University.
