About Me
Tia Cavender, MA, GPC is the founder and principal associate of Chase Park Grants in Denver, Colorado, which is a grants consulting firm that specializes in green grants, strategic grants planning, grants research and analysis, and grant development services. She has over 13 years of grant experience in various settings on a broad range of research, evaluation, and grant seeking projects in both educational, and health care settings, and seven years of consulting in both the public and private sectors. Before launching Chase Park Grants in 2010, Tia was a program evaluator and grant writer at the University of Colorado, and a grants director at Metro Health Hospital Foundation in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In 2007, Tia co-founded her first grants consulting firm (BOCA Grant Solutions, LLC), which specialized in grant-seeking for non-profit organizations. Tia has also worked at the University of Colorado Denver, Colorado Health Outcomes Program, and Gronning Engineering.
Tia's educational background includes two master's degrees from the University of Colorado in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and Clinical Psychology. She is currently a member of the Grant Professionals Association (GPA) and the American Evaluation Association. In 2007, Tia became one of the first professional grant writers in the nation to be credentialed as a Certified Grants Professional (GPC) by the Grants Professional Certification Institute, the only national accreditation institute in the industry.
Also an experienced educator, Tia has taught research courses to graduate students, designed and led grant-writing internship programs, conducted presentations at professional conferences, and led webinars to educate organizations throughout the nation about grants search, grant development and green grants. She has also published literature related to cancer outcomes, health services research, and public health insurance.
Tia believes in a team-based approach and works with other green industry consultants to assist her clients in developing an over-the-top- strategy that combines the content, expertise and talents of a diverse group of writers, researchers, evaluators, editors, and grants professionals to develop the most complete and effective product for her clients.
