Taming the 450 Pound Panda Contributed by:
Susan SmithTuesday, September 24, 2002 (10 years 235 days ago)
...Ah. . . now I got it. My friend works for a nonprofit that is in the midst of a major gift campaign. All summer she had been working with Board members and key volunteers to identify, cultivate and, ultimately, solicit large gifts for her organization. The "450-lb. panda" was her code name for one of the Campaign cabinet members, a well-known, beloved, wealthy and powerful older gentleman. She referred to him in that manner because he wasn't quite as formidable as his proverbial counterpart, the 800-lb. gorilla (who gets to sit anywhere he wants, bada-bing!).

Susan SmithTuesday, May 21, 2002 (10 years 361 days ago)
