About Me
Sandra Migani Wall, Ph.D. is the founder and principal of Telesis, a consulting firm in resource development. The goal of Telesis is to assist nonprofits in achieving progress that is intelligently planned and executed. The firm strives to enable clients to more effectively and efficiently fulfill their mission by providing an array of development consulting services and creative solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of each individual client in a professional, ethical, and cost-effective manner.
Services include: organizational and board development; feasibility studies and preparation for capital campaigns; development audits; strategic planning; sponsorship programs; and grant services. The latter covers assessing readiness to successfully obtain grants, program development, research on appropriate funding sources, and writing, editing and submitting proposals to corporate, foundation, and government entities. Dr. Wall has helped raise over $20 million from grants, sponsorships, and individual donors.
Clients through Telesis or as an associate with other consulting firms have included: education - higher education, K-12 schools, and national nonprofits; health care - hospitals, EMS, and regional health care nonprofits; social service agencies; zoological, botanical, and environmental organizations; local and state government agencies (mental health, justice, neighborhood and economic development, community action); and arts organizations.
Dr. Wall has developed people, boards, programs, and resources during thirteen years of experience in professional health education and eighteen years of part-time consulting in fundraising. She gained administrative experience at Meharry Medical College as a faculty member and Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs. Noting the multiple needs of faculty and students, Dr. Wall proposed and within less than three years, created, procured funding for, and directed a Division of Academic Development and Support Services for four professional schools. Simultaneously, she obtained three Title III grants and oversaw them as the Director of Program Administration. Her other practical experience comes from having served a variety of local and national nonprofits as executive director, director of development, and board member.
With regard to nonprofit boards, Dr. Wall has served in leadership positions and on committees locally and nationally. For one non-profit, as a member of the CEO’s Resource Development Advisory Group she helped plan its first, successful $3.5 million capital campaign. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and has served on the Northwest Ohio Board while chairing multiple committees. In 2001, Dr. Wall received the President’s Award from the Toledo Opera Guild; in 2005, the President’s Citation from AIA Toledo, a Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, and a commendation from AIA National.
Dr. Wall has collaborated with other fundraising consulting firms as an associate and has presented development related topics nationally. Dr. Wall earned her Ph.D. in physiology from the University of Virginia and a BA magna cum laude from Fordham University.
