About Me
I am a fully bilingual (English/Spanish) entrepreneur, professional speaker, author and writer. I live part of the year in Greenville, South Carolina and spend the rest of my time in other parts of the world. I am a published author on the subject of Business Grants and am an accomplished speaker. As a grant writer I have secured more than $114 million in grants during my career. I work with businesses, non-profit organizations, governmental agencies and educational institutions in the United States and abroad.
My particular areas of expertise include renewable energy, criminal justice, technology, communications, small business, law enforcement, public safety, Homeland Security, sustainable development, job training, education, Veterans, the environment, research and development, commercialization and international projects.
Internationally, I have worked in Colombia, Perú, Switzerland, Spain and the United Kingdom. I am currently working on developing projects in Germany and elsewhere in the European Union.
I am an accomplished writer and ghost writer, researching and writing about a variety of diverse topics including bodybuilding, fitness, nutrition, entrepreneurship, new product launch, mass market retailing, business strategy, start-ups, small business marketing, management and finance, market development, international business and more. Currently ghost writing for a well-known bodybuilder and his website. He gives me his ideas and thoughts about what he wants to say and I turn it into articles, books and content for his site.
I am also Director of Business Development for the Correctional Management & Communications Group, LLC. CMCG is a group of incredibly talented professionals with extensive background and experience in: correctional facility management and operation; diversity management; public safety; security and other related areas. CMCG works on projects both in the United States and globally.
Besides doing all of the above I also continue to assist start-up firms in the United States and globally and have more than 25 years'; experience launching consumer products in the mass market. I started a company that developed products for sale in Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Kroger and other big chains and then started helping other small businesses launch their products nationally and even internationally. I have worked with all of the major retailers in a variety of industries and have engineered successful new product launches in both the United States and Europe.
I love traveling and have lived in lots of different places in the United States and have lived in Spain and Peru too. I have wanderlust so I don't think I will settle down in one place any time soon (but you never know). I am happy exploring, living in different places, meeting new people and experiencing other ways of life.
By the way, I am a high school dropout. I dropped out of high school at age 16 and got my GED but eventually decided to go to college. I now have a Bachelor's Degree (management), an MBA (with a specialization in management) and have completed the coursework for my Doctorate in Business Management. I am currently working on my dissertation. I hope to teach (adjunct) one of these days.
