If you don't come up with some good answers, it's time to start investing in your organization's governance structures and processes. In the past fifteen years, there has been increasing interest in organizational governance in both the private and nonprofit sectors. In the corporate sector, it was a number of spectacular scandals that resulted in calls for governance reform. In the voluntary sector, this examination of the board's role has been driven partly by the experience of the private sector, but more importantly by the changing environment in which nonprofits operate.
