About Me
Kelly has more than 25 years of volunteer and volunteer management experience, beginning with a dance-a-thon she organized for the American Heart Association when she was 17 years old.
As a professional communicator Kelly has written, edited and designed publications, news releases, newsletters and web sites. She has managed communications for several software firms, mining and natural resource companies and a variety of non-profit associations. Her experience includes aggressive public relations campaigns, published articles in various trade journals, event planning and employee communications.
Kelly has dedicated much of her life and spare time to volunteers and the spirit of volunteers. Working with organizations such as American Heart Association, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, various local and civic clubs, International Association of Business Communicators and most recently volunteering as the off-site volunteer coordinator for Utah-Idaho Southern Baptist Disaster Relief, during first-response activations for floods, hurricanes and the tsunami relief efforts. She currently works with Intermountain Homecare as Volunteer Services Program Coordinator, consulting for their eight offices from Burley, Idaho to St. George, Utah.
She also volunteers as co-chair for the Utah Hospice and Palliative Care Organization’s newly formed volunteer committee. Never ceasing to seek opportunities for volunteer support and recognition, Kelly worked with the committee and Utah’s Governor, Jon Huntsman, Jr. to declare April 12, 2006 as Utah Hospice Volunteer Day.
In her spare time, Kelly volunteers on the Salt City Derby Girls board, working with the newly-formed roller derby league in developing their Web site.
Believing in the volunteer spirit and possessing the drive to organize, support and manage volunteers, Kelly has dedicated her life and career to these endeavors.
