About Me
Gayle Goldin is the Director of Community Partnerships for Volunteers in Health Care (VIH), a national resource center for volunteer-inclusive health care programs that provide care to the uninsured. As the Director of Community Partnerships, Ms. Goldin oversees VIH’s technical assistance services, including hosting VIH’s teleworkshop series, facilitating meetings, providing consulting services, and reviewing grant applications. Ms. Goldin is the co-author of several VIH manuals including, Starting a Free Clinic, Recruiting and Retaining Medical Volunteers, and Recruiting and Retaining Dental Volunteers. Ms. Goldin also presents at meetings across the country on a variety of subjects including volunteer management, grantwriting, the health care safety net, and public policies that impact grass-roots health care organizations. Prior to joining VIH, Ms. Goldin co-developed a health advocacy training program for immigrants, served as a grantwriter, and conducted research on foundation funding patterns.
Ms. Goldin’s volunteer happy place is as a board member for Adoption Rhode Island, a nonprofit organization that helps find adoptive families for children living in state care, promotes adoption as a positive way of life, and offers family support services, education, training, advocacy, and information. Ms. Goldin is currently spearheading a campaign to improve adoption benefits for families living in Rhode Island and, in doing so, has been appointed to a legislative commission on the subject.
Gayle holds a Bachelor of Arts from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and a Masters of Arts, Public Policy, from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts.
