About Me
Charles "Chick" O'Data is a native of Pittsburgh and graduated from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. Shortly after graduating he returned to his alma mater as the director of public relations and then became Vice President of Development, a position he held for 37 years. While at Geneva his responsibilities grew to include, fund raising, student admssions, student financial aid, intercollegiate athletics, the computer center and manager of the college endowment fund.
For a period of three years he was named chief financial officer for the Pittsburgh Symphony and Heinz Hall for the performing Arts where his responsibilities included managing the symphony endowment fund. He then became the national sales executive for healthcare and education for the S.C. Johnson Corporation.
Active in community and professional associations, he was named Outstanding Fund Raiser of the Year by the Western Pennsylvania chapter of AFP. Twice he was named Man of the Year for Beaver County, Pennsylvania.
For twenty six years he served on the board of The Medical Center, Beaver, which is now part of the Heritage Valley Health System. He is a board member of the Beaver County Corporation for Economic Development.
He founded the Beaver County Foundation which today has nearly $10 million in assets.
Most recently he has served as a consultant to educational, cultural, professional and social service organizations. Currently he is the director of philanthropic advisors for McKinley Carter Wealth Services, a regional organization with offices in Wexford, PA, Wheeling and Charleston WV, specializing in managing and growing non-profit endowments.
In addition to his residence in Beaver, PA, he also resides in Fort Myers, FL
