About Me
Bill Huddleston, earned his Master of Public Administration in Non-Profit Management from George Mason University, served in the Federal sector for over 25 years, and has worked extensively in community and church non-profit organizations as well. During his Federal career he served in many CFC roles including deputy campaign manager, communications chairperson, special events chair, and in the 2001 campaign was a Loaned Executive (management consultant to multiple agencies). He was recognized for outstanding campaign performance at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and received the National Capital Area CFC Directors Award.
He specializes in creating information resources about the CFC, and he also presents lectures to university audiences on non-profit management and fund-raising. Bill is on the faculty of the Center for Nonprofit Advancement in Washington, D.C. and served as a voting delegate from the Commonwealth of Virginia to the Nonprofit Congress. Bill makes his home base in Fairfax, Virginia and presents workshops, seminars and teleseminars to assist nonprofit leaders on how to tap into the resources of the CFC. Consultancy to non-profits on how to make the most of the Federal government’s Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) based on experience listed below. Current clients include the American Hospice Foundation and United College Ministries. Author of soon to be released, “A Hidden Treasure for Non-Profits, How to Tap into the CFC, America’s Largest Workplace Giving Campaign.” Consultancy activities include presentations and guest lectures workshops.
Federal Government Information Technology & Administration Professional
Served in the Federal sector for more than 25 years, on both Capital Hill and in the Executive Branch, including positions at the House Information Systems, Congressional Member offices, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and the Office of Personnel Management, with the longest period of time at the SEC.
Senior Divisional Information Technology Specialist, Division of Market Regulation, U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission, Washington, D.C. (April 1990 to December 2004.)
Served as the project team leader on the preparation of all management control and budget documents required of the Division, including the OMB and Presidential budgets; (GPRA) (strategic plans); and annual reports. Responsible for knowledge management initiatives within the Division. Served on the Division’s Training Committee due to my expertise in knowledge management and leadership development programs.
Created the first Community of Practice at the SEC – comprised of information technology specialists in HQ, program offices and regional offices.
CFC Loaned Executive, (detailed from SEC) (August 2001 to February 2002.)
Management consultant and campaign advisor to the Combined Federal Campaigns (CFCs) of seven agencies in the National Capital Region: the General Services Administration; the Smithsonian Institution; the National Gallery of Art; the Merit Systems Protection Board; the Postal Rate Commission; the Office of the Special Counsel; and the Broadcasting Board of Governors (Voice of America) working with all levels of employees, including agency heads. Collectively these agencies raised $1,197,667 of the record breaking $50 million that was raised during the 2001 National Capital CFC, with four of the agencies receiving special recognition for their efforts. Due to 9/11 there were extraordinary challenges in the campaign that year.
